[Italiano] "La fotografia è la cattura di un pensiero, è rendere visibile un'emozione, è un modo per imprigionare per sempre una sensazione". Questa è una delle frasi che più frequentemente amo proferire, ma nello stesso tempo ritengo che la fotografia sia un valido supporto per divulgare conoscenza e cultura. La mia logica, quasi sempre, segue un istinto, un pensiero o una finalità ben precisa in accordo con quest'ultimo. I miei scatti, assecondano principalmente il mio amore profondo per la città in cui sono nato e in cui vivo, da sempre. Quindi ritraggo spesso Napoli e il suo territorio circostante e la mia scelta di stile è rappresentarla con il "bianco e nero". A tale proposito, asserisco che in genere io non uso il bianco e nero, ma addirittura ne "abuso", per far risaltare, nelle immagini che propongo, particolari che altrimenti il colore confonderebbe nella sua visione globale. Questo spiega il perché, a volte, io esasperi i contrasti, o vada alla ricerca di cieli molto mossi, oppure ostenti una durezza netta nelle linee architettoniche, negli orizzonti e nelle figure umane. Sono questi, infatti, gli elementi che mi caratterizzano e che mi emozionano, risvegliando ricordi e sensazioni che restano imprigionate nelle mie fotografie. ***** [English] "Photography is the capture of a thought, it is making an emotion visible, it is a way of imprisoning a sensation forever." This is one of the phrases I most frequently love to utter, but at the same time I believe that photography is a valid support for disseminating knowledge and culture. My logic, almost always, follows an instinct, a thought or a very specific purpose in accordance with the latter. My shots mainly indulge my deep love for the city where I was born and where I have always lived. So I often portray Naples and its surrounding area and my choice of style is to represent it with "black and white". In this regard, I assert that generally I do not use black and white, but even "abuse" it, to bring out, in the images I propose, details that color would otherwise confuse in its overall vision. This explains why, sometimes, I exaggerate contrasts, or look for very wavy skies, or flaunt a clear hardness in architectural lines, in horizons and in human figures. These are, in fact, the elements that characterize me and that excite me, awakening memories and sensations that remain imprisoned in my photographs.
